Failing to plan is yadda yadda yadda
So on January 2nd of 2012 I start the Whole30 and IAPNAP 30 day yoga challenge. I am feeling pretty good about the Whole30. I have a freezer full of meat, a crisper full of veggies and several recipes to get me started smoothly. I also live within a 1 mile radius of approximately 3 great grocery stores and 10 mediocre. I will not starve.
But I am a little nervous about my yoga challenge. ...

Whole30 Challenge 2012
So I am a huge fan of creating challenges for myself to help me set the stage for success. While I don’t get into New Years resolutions, I do get into New Year Challenges that will kick my new year off with a bang and set the focus and intention towards health in 2012.
I am starting my New Year off with a 30 day yoga challenge brought to you by Allison @ It’s a Party Not a Picnic. ...

Paleo/Primal Fitblrs: BRUNCH QUESTIONS!!!
Greetings all, Christmas is over, so it is in my nature to begin planning for New Years. This is the second year of what I hope to be a long tradition of having a dear friend over for brunch on New Year’s Day. I am looking for “knock your socks off” primal brunch ideas.
We will be having Hoppin’ John and Greens for luck and money in the New Year. We will eat this every...

More notes on primal experimentation
Let me start by saying, I am no teetotaler. I love lots of things in life that are not going to add longevity and health. I still partake because I have found that stringent “discipline” only causes my control neurosis to flare up, and when that flares up my health suffers immensely.
So I went into this holiday season knowing that I would partake in some gluteny, wheaty items, even...
YOEDDIE: Final Words →
yoeddie:
Last night I came across the final words of Sarada Devi. She was the wife of the great 19th century Indian mystic, Ramakrishna. After his death, she became a revered teacher in her own right. On her deathbed she said:
“But I tell you one thing—if you want peace of mind, do not find fault with others. Rather see your own faults. Learn to make the whole world your own. No one is a...

90 minutes of Kinnect Fitness, Kinnect Boxing and Kinnect Dance Central. How’s that for ‘Play’?
According to the Kinnect, I burned about 300 calories. That is of no real concern to me. I sweated for 90 minutes and have perfected the “Soulja Boy”. Boom!

A weekend of wheat gorging
And what do I see?
It is difficult to tell. Stomach problems are back, but I ate A LOT of junk, not just wheat. Appetite seems more raised, but not out of control. Energy levels all over the place, but I did have in-laws in town and there was some “day-drinking” that will zonk even the most primal of eaters. I am ready to get back on plan. My everything will thank me.

1-ish months of primal experimentation
I would say that I am 70/30 primal over the past month and one week. I have almost completely eliminated wheat/gluten from my diet (almost all grains actually), minus that (very) occasional slice of pizza or beer. I have been doing IF over the weekends, largely by accident since I am rarely starving any more.
And the results are in:
Pounds lost: 9 (and I stopped tracking calories weeks...
